Jason & Kyra is really wonderful. It wasn't as good as played, but it's one of the first books that really let me remember that reading could be fun.

So far this book has been great! Its about a boy named Jason and a girl named Kyra, they never were really good friends until their English teacher paired them up together to write a paper. They started hanging out and talking more and more, although jasons girlfriend doesn't want them really hanging out anymore. Jason then starts to see a connecton between them and something incredible happens...

Jason Vincent is the star of Cross High's basketball team. Half of the girls at his college-prep school want him, but Lisa is his girlfriend and they've been together for a year. Jason doesn't have it in his heart to disrespect a female, so even though girls are in his face all of the time, flirting and giving him their phone numbers, he'd never actually cheat. There is one girl he's been eyeing since ninth grade, though. Her name is Kyra Evans. She's confident, she's smart and she's not trying to fit in. She's different than most girls. So different, in fact, that when Jason spends quite a bit of time with Kyra working on a school project, Lisa isn't the least bit threatened. Afterall, what guy in his right mind would choose a not-so-attractive, plain dressing, brainiac, virgin over her? Lisa and all the other kids at school school get the shock of their lives when Jason breaks up with Lisa and makes Kyra his new girlfriend.
Kyra Evans didn't intend to develop feelings for another girl's man. She didn't think Jason was her type and even if he was she certainly didn't think the most popular boy in school could ever have feelings for her. The more she gets to know him the more she likes him and it doesn't take long before she realizes she's in love - before they realize they're in love. But then Kyra's insecurities get in the way and everything get's messed up.
Jason Vincent and Kyra Evans - I like these young people. Jason knew the meaning of the word NO. He wasn't a virgin, but he didn't pressure Kyra when he knew she wasn't ready. He was willing to wait. Kyra was a very intelligent girl with dreams and goals, and she was there for Jason when he really needed someone to talk to. They were a nice couple.
Parents: There is profanity here and there, and sexual content.

This book took a really long time for me to finish. I found it in the library one day, and would go back to it whenever I was bored or didn't have anything to do. Written from two different perspectives, Jason and Kyra centers on two high school students in different social situations. There's Jason, the star of the basketball team and all around popular boy, and then Kyra, the brainy, self-confident girl, who doesn't look for anyone else's approval in anything she does, something that makes her a bit unpopular in the high school crowd. The two are paired together for an AP Lit assignment, and begin with some pre-conceived notions about each other. As they continue to spend time together, they begin to like each other more and more, but many social obstacles and obligations on both sides are standing in their way.

I didn't intend to finish this book, or even pick it up. It wasn't recommended, and for good reason. It isn't particularly good writing; the author tries much to hard to sound modern in her language, and mainly just comes out of it sounding foolish and older then she'd like. The characters were a bit one-dimensional, although it was clear where she was trying to go with them, heaping on emotional problems for them to contend with. I think maybe she hoped that would give them depth for her. This wasn't one of my favorite books, but it passed the time quick enough, which was really what I wanted, so I suppose it served it's purpose.

This book is the perfect definition of what I view as the perfect love story. Every word Dana Davidson writes is so captivating and romantic that I believed that Kyra and Jason were actual people. The story of the most handsome guy in school falling in love with a not-so popular girl might seem to be impossible in reality yet it isn't really.

There were moments that I completely melted and got chills while I read. I couldn't leave the book behind for the two days that I had read it. Dana Davidson paints such a nice picture that it can almost be put into motion pictures. My favorite scene would have to be their first kiss. I loved the way that they had such a light conversation that built up to something bigger. Quite light and fluffy moments for the two main characters and a dream fantasy for possibly all teenage girls.

The mixture of a handsome guy mixed in with brains and kindness is the perfect remedy for a teenage romance. Though the plot is highly cliche, I think it can be passed because the story is well-written. There are at times I thought that the characters were out of character such as Jason and Kyra's first kissing scene. For Kyra to first initiate the kiss was so unlike her character because she was suppose to be the shy one in the relationship.

All in all, I would recommend this book for all teenage girls especially since the characters are around the age of 17. If you're addicted to romance, this should be a good book choice.
