Do not read this book if you are currently suffering depression. It will only push you deeper into that state. However, if you want to analyze the ways in which white supremacy, patriarchy, classism, and heterosexism make it nearly impossible for African women to have a sense of wholeness, check this out. There are alternatives and remedies offered, just in between, many multisyllable words.

Instead of this book, I offer Julia Boyd's Black Women and Depression.
