I liked this book when I read it in school. It proves that not everything is how it seems. Sure it seems great to live forever, but what about all the heartbreak it causes. Sure you stay young, but you watch others you love grow old and pass away. This is your fate forever. You will never grow old, you will never die, but at what cost? I'm really surprised to be giving this book a 2, because I had such fond memories of reading it in elementary school. However, reading it as an adult I found myself wondering at the conclusion, "What was the point?" I cannot figure what the purpose of the book is and what message it is try to get across. It is disappointing and unfulfilling...two things I cannot tolerate from a book.

This book is a very good piece of literature for grades three and older. There are moral concepts that need to be adressed and this book can bring up very interesting discussions so I would say no younger than third for sure.
This book is about a young girl Winnie who comes across the tuck family and discovers their secret of everlasting life.
