Dean Karnazes started running as part of his mid-life crisis and hasn't stopped yet. A must read for runners who think that they might be able to push a little harder, but don't. This will push you past that edge.”

He's an animal!”

I really was inspired by his drive to fulfill an inner need and not glory. I loved some of his honest replys to questions and his quotes. This book really helped me define some of myself and I was really inspired”

I can see where running can be addictive, and Dean Karnazes takes long distance running to the nth degree. Yet, he enjoys other sports as well, and seems to take the time for his family and 9-5 job as well.
One thing he mentioned toward the end of the book that I could relate to was that the solitude experienced while running helps him to enjoy his time with people more. I can understand that.
I also enjoyed reading about his running for charity, several children who needed organ transplants, since I'm thinking about running for a charity in the coming year. ”
“This is a fun book to read for inspiration if you are a distance runner or for encouragement to become one if you aren't. It is funny in places - for example when he orders a pizza for delivery . . . while running an all night training run. Although the phrase "Get over yourself" comes to mind several times while reading this book it is a fast and often entertaining read.”

I don't really understand how he does it all and was left with thinking that something in his life must be getting neglected. Luckily he was able to turn his fanatical running into a career. His book was really well written and a great read.”
