“One of the reasons why I love American history is due to my Grandma. When I was 10 years old she mentioned to me - as she was going through old dated papers and documents, that Great Uncle Lyman Hall signed the Declaration of Independence. I remember that day as if it was yesterday. She told me since I have this "famous Uncle" who sacrificed for us and for our country that I have a huge responsibility to use my "God-given" talents for good in this world. The more I learn about my Uncle Lyman Hall, the more I am amazed at his courage and strength. Uncle Lyman's home was burned by the Red Coats and many of his documents went up in flames. He and his family were constantly fleeing the Brits because their was a price on his head. He lost his wife and his son died at a very early age - not leaving any direct decendents from his lineage. One of the best parts of researching and learning about him has been meeting other distant relatives from all over the country. If any one reading this is related to Uncle Lyman Hall, please contact me and I will gladly share information I have. ”
