Jonathan Weiner is able to spark genuine interest in his readers with this work. It is about Charles Darwin, Peter & Rosemary Grant, and the theory of evolution in general. Weiner also includes descriptions of studies from many other evolutionists and biologists. He touches upon various concepts from evolutionary studies including genetics, resistance, and exactly what natural selection and evolution are.
