It was summertime, I was 16. I found it in our garage (in a pile of old 60s nostaligia of my fathers).

“After I started on a spiritual path, this was one of the first books I read. I remember the first time I opened it up and it felt so right in my hands. It wasn't the 60's by then. I had missed it during the 60's but I had at last found it. It fairly vibrated in my hands. The first thing I read was: This is made in love for love and any portion of this may be reprinted to ring the bell of dharma, but only with the prior written permission of Hunuman Foundation. It rang. Then I realized I had heard of Ram Dass and later would get to meet him. As I slowly turned the pages, I came to one that just touching it made me feel as if a powerful jolt of electricity had just surged through my body. It was called The Butterfly. I read the words,
"I am without form, without limit, beyond space, beyond time. I am in everything, everything is me, I am the bliss of the Universe, everything am I." I sat and cried and cried. If God was in me and I was in God then I was never alone and all of this was real. I had a knowing that it was true. And I was off on this crazy, amazing trip of my own called my spiritual path. This book, for me, was interactive. I reach out to Divinity, it reached back for me. I highly recommend it if you are looking to fly with the angels and butterflies.”
“I imagine some find it easy to dismiss both this book and its author as titular products and/or projections of the sixties. But I'm afraid this book is just as intriguing, and as as strong, as any well-made kaleidoscope: what you see, when you open it, is different each time, and beautiful. A hard book to capture.”
