The series crosses subgenre lines. Krentz' uses her Amanda Quick pen name for her Regencies, many of which are paranormals, but not all, and her own name of Jayne Ann Krentz for her contemporaries, a few of which are paranormals, but most aren't. I think the time span of these stories and the mixing of subgenre lines makes for a very exciting series.
