Not as great as The Curious Incident, but still a lot of fun.

A British soap with wit and intelligence. The characters are flawed and loveable and their behaviour and the events that ensue are funny, sad and pathetic in parts. A light, occasionally thought-provoking and enjoyable read.

Written in a very different style to "Curious Incident of a dog in the night-time". Slow start but picks up immensely. Can imagine this being made into a movie.

It's a pretty good book. Not quite as eye opening and awesome as "Nighttime" but I definitely made me laugh out loud a bunch of times and wonder if I any of my birthmarks are signs of cancer.

i had trouble getting into the book, keeping track of characters (at first), and difficulty sympathizing and connecting with George, the anxiety-ridden father and main character. i did find some resonance further into the book with the characters of Jamie and Katie (brother and sister) and Jean (wife and mother). I enjoyed the last half of the book as the characters experience parallel personal melt-downs, but all come out better people.

Another win for Haddon - just as clever as Curious Incident..., but in a completely different vein. Thoroughly enjoyable even if you do just want to knock the characters' heads together at times. I actually laughed out loud on the subway a few times. Like watching an episode of Faulty Towers, except that everything is more real and more solid and desperate.
