This is another Christmas tale told by Carol and Mary Higgins Clark, as Alvirah and Regan are solving another Christmas mystery. A must read for all Carol and Mary Higgins Clark fans.

Sort of cute. A little draggy in spots. The ending was sweet and tidy.

This was another engrossing book from this pair of authors. Somewhere I had heard it referred to as simiilar to "It's A Wonderful Life," so it was intereresting to read it after just having watched that.

The similarities end with the idea of a deceased person trying to gain angel status from good deeds. In the Clarks' book, the problems are much more dramatic than that of the "It's a Wonderful Life" movie, and it is interesting to watch this would-be-angel solve them. I thought of a different solution he could have tried, but that may have been going too far, and may have backfired too much. It was a solution that someone tried in "The Little House on the Prairie" TV series, episode "If I Should Wake Before I Die" from the first season. So, I can't say that I came up with it originally.

I have to note that Biblically, while dead people can end up in heaven, they do not become angels - not at all, from good deeds or otherwise. Angels have been created as angels. People do not get admittance into heaven by good deeds, either, because none of us have been good enough, as good as God Himself. It is only by His mercy and grace that we have been saved and can enter His Heaven at all. Just ask Him!

I've liked Mary Higgins Clark. I think I've read every book she wrote. If you know of an obscure one I might have missed let me know and I'll read it. I even read her biography on George Washington. I don't remember the name but great book .

Sterling has been waiting in heaven for 46 years. He needs to find someone who needs his help. He finds a little girl who is the only one who can see him.

A quick read and a fun ending. A little too concrete for me in describing the after life and "divine intervention" (if there is such a thing :-) )

Better than "The Christmas Train", but not as good as "The Autobiograpy of Santa Claus".
