This is a mystery set at West Point in the 1830s. Not only is it a compelling story, but it's a story with a twist - or maybe two. Recruited to assist the detective brought in to solve the mystery is a young cadet named ... Edgar Poe. Poe, who is unsuited to a military life, to say the least, digs into the case while quoting his own verses and beiing swept away on the wings of a poetic love. This book could well have been written in the 19th century, as the mood is so well set in that era. I couldn't put it down.
