I really enjoyed reading this one, and I'd stumbled on the book by accident. I was captivated by the story line and all the contrasts that were presented. The Victorian interest in the spirit world, limited options for unmarried women of that day, the severe separation between upper and lower classes, and the dark prison were all interesting aspects of this book.
