Perfectly acceptable Christie mystery, but nothing spectacular. No Hastings, only a little Japp and only a passing reference to Giraud despite half of the story taking place in France. Fairly usual plucky girl with two men to choose from, both of whom are suspects. Poirot, of course, does some matchmaking. All in all nothing objectionable about it, but nothing exceptional either.

I really thought that I had this mystery solved from the beginning. I was wrong, the person I thought did it was part of the solution though. This book had a twist at the end that I never saw coming and totally shocked me.

Charming and precise. This plot is not athletic in the least, but maintains a kind of eerieness which is delightful.

Christie excels again in a book with her characteristic twist in the tale. You would have never guessed the murderer
