It's a shame that the film version did not do this story justice. I Am Legend was one of the few books that actually had me sleeping with my lights on. Very well written; carefully thought out; and leaves you thinking for a while afterwards.

Not my type of book. I did not like this book, or the movie based on this book.

Matheson's story is, of course, mega compelling and genius, and the art in this graphic novel is fantastic. In particular, the fight and struggle panels are excellent. But, and this could be because I just recently finished reading the novel, I found the overall adaptation to be a bit wordy, huge chunks of Matheson's original text being included. I didn't need to re-read the novel and found myself skimming the words until I got to my favorite parts. Though Matheson's writing style is well suited for the graphic novel and comic genre, some sections of the book (such as Neville's research) seemed unecessary in this form. What generally makes graphic novels great is their quick pace, and this one at times meandered and plodded. Truly, this is more of an illustrated version of the novel than a graphic novel.

I know many consider this a classic. I personally prefer the movie with Will Smith. The book itself was slow and depressing as was the graphic novel. I didn't like the lead character which makes it hard for me to stay in a story. Good horror and idea though. Just not enough to keep me interested so I had to struggle through the rest of it.

this is a graphic novel of I Am Legend. This is not anything like the movie. This is it's own story and does have to do with the last man on earth trying to find a cure. Instead of weird man eating zombies they are actual talking vampires. I Am Legend is about a man named Robert Treville and he is the last man on earth. he is trying to survive from the Vampires. this is a great book for people who are into graphic novels and like sci-fi horror.

Unfortunately my copy of this graphic novel (which is based on Richard Matheson's timeless story of zombical vampiric apocalypse) has NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE emblazoned across the cover. Will Smith not included.

Last Man on Earth, a film starring a young Vincent Price, is based on this novel and highly recommended.

Nice comic adaptation of the novel - the storyline is different from that of the movie starring Will Smith, and better.
