In Princess On the Brink, Mia is now a junior. Her best friend Lily, is now blond, and has a boyfriend named JP. It’s rumored that JP and Lily have done the do. Tina is now dating Lilly’s old boyfriend Boris (whose done a transformation, and is now kinda cool). Lily has been kind of vague on the intimate details of her new relationship. Tina and Mia are however trying to hang on to their precious gifts (their virginity until prom night). Meanwhile Michael (whose now in college) has something to tell Mia.
The proto-type that he has built of a robotic arm, has been noticed by a Japanese company, and they want to market it. They’ve offered him a job, and he’ll be there at least a year. He further drops the bomb shell that it will be easier to be away from Mia, since they aren’t having sex. In order to get Micheal to stay, despite the fact that his robotic arm could save millions, she plans to use the suite her grandmother gave her to seduce Michael into staying. In another plot Lilly is trying to get her to run for junior president, by falsely leading the freshman and others to believe that Mia knows better than anyone what to do if there should ever be a natural disaster, because she’s a worrier.
If she runs, and steps down Lilly will tell her if she and JP had sex. Mia’s romantic night doesn’t go as planned however, Michael isn’t as enthusiastic as she thought he’d be. Not only does he see through her plan, but he tells her he still plans to go. Not only that but he gave up his virginity to Judith. Mia gets all upset, and breaks up with him. How could he have lied to her, and then given his virginity to someone that he didn’t even love?
Thanks to her dad, she realizes that if you have true love not to let it get away from you that easily (in reference to him letting her mom turning down his marriage proposal). But is it too late? During a confrontation at school, where Lilly basically calls Mia selfish, and demanding for prosecuting her brother for not following her beliefs, JP gets mad and breaks up with Lilly. Turns out he never really loved her, but stayed with her because he thought his feelings might change, but seeing as how she treated Mia turned out to be a deal breaker. JP reveals that he and Lily never had sex, and that he never gave his self away. Micheal walks in and catches JP and Mia kissing.
Mia rushes to catch Micheal before he leaves (after discovering how her father still felt about her mother), but it’s too late. His flight has all ready left. Lily in turn calls off the friendship when she hears that Mia, has kissed her ex-boyfriend. But Lily has won the election after Mia left, and no one else was on the ballot. JP then calls Mia, and invites her to see Beauty and the Beast.
Princess on the Brink, is the best one I’ve read so far. I give it eight stars. I REALLY couldn’t believe Mia could be so stupid in this one. Lily usually annoys me, but I have to say in this her logic was very much on point. You can’t condemn a person for not following what you believe. And then guys tend not to hold virginity as sacred as females sometimes. They probably consider it a bigger deal to give there’s away than to actually wait and keep it. Then like he said he wasn’t *with* Mia then. So he didn’t owe her anything. She had *no* right to get mad at something he did before he was with her. I did find it surprising that the subject didn’t come up between them, but I can’t really fault him for not wanting to broadcast it either. Look how she reacted. However, because I skipped some books (not intentionally) I’m sorry to find out that they don’t stay together. I loved the book where they first got together. I have mixed feelings about Mia and JP. I can’t be mad at her for going out with a friend’s ex. Trust me it happens. Then Lily can’t be *too* mad, because her ex went out with Tina. So she really is being a hypocrite!

“True romantic love really doesn't come around that often.
