Meg Cabot is an interesting writer. She has pretty much covered most genres of chick literature going as far as writing a much tamer version of Historical Romance. If you have a younger sister and don't really feel like corrupting her mind with trashy romance novels, yet feel that she's not yet ready for Jane Austen, then I suggest you let her in on this. I'm thinking of getting this book for my niece soon.

Cute concept. Basically little historical romances for the teen set, complete with roues and innocent beauties.

Victoria was forced to agree to the marriage since Jacob was just right there looking at her, its just not fair! I have no idea why Jacob was just an disrespectful person at first, i mean why? why cant he just be like those other gentlemen who respect woman, woman like Victoria. This was indeed quite a fun book to read though, it was funny and enjoyable. This was one of my favorite books from Meg Cabot. This book made me read book from the 1800 and such, it was such an interesting time. I think that this book is better than modern time books, because these books focus more on life rather than like how to be popular in school or such. These books really let your mind think differently about things. I would be sure never to make a mistake just because i wanted to impress someone.

Very true to Meg Cabot's writing style. Even in the 1800s it is about a confused girl, who isn't so bright, with major boy problems. I think that it could have mentioned more of the culture of the 180s in England. I also thought the characters were very undeveloped. I think the mediator series and Avalon High were much better than this book and I would recommend those to read before reading this one.I think that the main character Victoria was very dense and she wasn't smart about anything I don't understand ow everyone else knew simple things that she didn't.

Yeah, the main problem was that this book was almost exactly like her other book. Personally I liked the heroine of the other book better though I liked the guy in this one more. I think in the whole book Peter the street kid was my favorite character. I liked the book but she has written way better books and there are way better historical romantic fiction books out there. Plus the cover is really weird she should do something about that.
