  • Jenny Greenley: The main character and narrator of the story. She is a normal, nice, people pleasing girl who everyone likes. She is the layout person and "Ask Annie" on her school newspaper, and when Luke Striker, a famous movie star, is going undercover as Lucas Smith for research for an upcoming movie, he is her tour guide. Her best friend is Trina, and other friends include Geri Lynn and Geri's boyfriend Scott.
  • Luke Striker: A famous movie star that all girls (except Jenny) are gaga over, who goes undercover as Lucas Smith and visits Jenny's school, to research for an upcoming movie. Trina is obsessed with him
  • Trina: Jenny's best friend, who lives next door and convinced her to join the school's show choir.
