I have to admit that despite my love for A Dirty Job, I’m not a big fan of Moore’s earlier works. Not only are some characters reused (which I don’t really have a problem with — nothing wrong with recurring characters!), he uses some of the same stereotypes in every book, it seems. There’s...

So far, I love this book. I truly enjoy an author with a sarcastic sense of HUMOR. I find it to be great fun with a good story line

I have to admit that despite my love for A Dirty Job, I’m not a big fan of Moore’s earlier works. Not only are some characters reused (which I don’t really have a problem with — nothing wrong with recurring characters!), he uses some of the same stereotypes in every book, it seems. There’s always a mostly-high surfer dude. There’s always a cantankerous (and probably homely) old lady. And of course, the earnest (if sometimes misguided) main character. I think what really rubbed me wrong in this book was Coyote himself. I know he is supposed to be a "trickster" spirit, but I found him more mean-spirited than anything. Especially when he steals Sam’s car, sells it, and gambles away his bank account. I think you’re supposed to find his naiveté endearing, but I didn’t. I’ll keep reading (or rather, listening) to Moore’s books, but mostly because they’re what my husband wants to hear.

I've heard other readers of this book laud it, praising at how funny and sardonic the writer crafted such however, I was not one bit stirred. Perhaps it was the rather suffocating (for me, at least) setting of the story? Or maybe it just doesn't conform to my taste.

A great story. I love the antics of Old Man Coyote in this. Also the buttered harlot imagery had me laughing for a good solid 5 minutes. This was a fun, fast read. :)

Good book. Not as funny as Lamb though. Still a good read.

I liked most of the book, although I think it dragged a little toward the end. Good characters, though and Christopher Moore's usual wacky humor. I would definitely read more of his work.

Not my favorite, but still very funny. I don't think there is a such thing as a bad Christopher Moore novel.

My least favorite of his books. Just don't have as deep a love as with his others....but still not a bad book. Many belly laughs.

Coyote Blue is the story of Sam Hunter, aka Samson Hunts Alone. Hunter has left his past as a Crow Indian behind to embrace his life as a life insurance salesman. Hunter is living a lie, hiding from a fatal mistake in his past, when his life is turned upside down by Coyote, the trickster. Hunter is in for the ride of his life.

Christopher Moore is always great for a good laugh and Coyote Blue doesn't fail to deliver. Moore has an unique sense of humor and makes the most out of the old Coyote stories giving them a slight twist to them. I really loved the story of Coyote, 4 ducks and the sweat house. I couldn't stop laughing. Coyote Blue was not only funny but had a great story line and action that kept it moving.
