Christopher Moore rocks! Who else could combine Santa Zombies, B Movie has beens and talking fruit bats? Hysterical!

Christopher Moore and I have a kindred sense of humor. I laugh out loud at everything he's done and CANNOT wait until the March 2010 release of Bite Me: A Love Story!

For some, it was the Santa-Zombie that hit them, but it was the Warrior Babe that really got me laughing out loud. I wish Moore added more Mooly antics.

Delightful in one of the most quirky and absurd ways! It was definitely and horrifying and yet, laugh out loud funny story. These characters remind me of the odd folks that used to inhabit Northern Exposure (old TV show) with a little of the paranormal mixed into the plot.

It's a week before Christmas in Pine Cove, CA, and little Joshua sees Santa beat to death with a shovel. Obviously traumatized, Joshua decides not to tell an adult (he was out past his curfew) and appeals straight to The Big Guy to bring Santa back to life and save Christmas! The Angel Raziel is sent to Earth to grant one child's Christmas wish and Joshua is the lucky winner. What follows is a holiday tale of zombies, fruit bats, pot-growers, and the generally insane citizens of Pine Cove.

The Stupidest Angel had me laughing out loud at many parts and kept me entertained from start to finish. I loved how insane many (all) of the characters were but thought it was kind of sweet that many of them realized their partners were completely mad and put up with them anyway. I really wish there would have been more with Roberto the Fruit Bat - he was by far my favorite underdeveloped character! Seriously, who doesn't want a pet bat?!?

This is a fun holiday read that won't overwhelm you with an over-the-top, sappy, true meaning of Christmas but still has a feel-good ending - in a slightly twisted, Moore kind of way!

This was my first Moore and I have to admit to being a little worried about reading his stuff because it seemed that he was very irreverent and I wasn't sure how I'd like that. I do love a good laugh though! No need to worry, I was prepared for a bit of weird humor and wasn't surprised. When the subtitle is "A Heartwarming tale of Christmas Terror" it has to tell you something. Fair warning in the beginning of the story too, written by the author: "If you're buying this book as a gift for your grandma or a kid, you should be aware that it contains cusswords as well as tasteful depictions of cannibalism, and people in their forties having sex. Don't blame me. I told you." OMG, what am I getting myself into?

It didn't take too many pages to get into the grove of the story though and I quickly found myself equating this to some of the absurd situations in shows like Northern Exposure and just giving myself over to it. Christmas is coming to Pine Cove, California and things are a bit tense and a lot of strange things are happening. They get stranger! Quirky characters abound (including the animals), the dialog is quick and witty (also including the animals!). There’s a bit of the paranormal to contend with, especially in the second half of the book. Did anyone notice the O. Henry “Gift of the Magi” connection? I (guiltily) enjoyed this very much.

Santa zombies and talking fruit bats who can ask for more. Christmas comes to Pine cove and all would be fine except that Molly is off her meds and Raziel has lost a bet and must answer a child's Christmas' wish. As always hilariousness (yes that is a word) ensues.

This is a must read for me each Christmas because, you know, christmas' brains are tasty.

I loved this book! I was tickled to find that all of my favorite characters from Lust Lizard were in this one.

I thought this was going to be a good Christmas book, and it was really outrageous.
