[I have finished this book]
It was very interesting to see how the each individual stories slowly solved out towards the end. The climax was when people started getting murdered, and I was sad throughout the whole book, since I already knew that this was the last of the Hercule Poirot series. I liked how this book was particularly written in Captain Hastings' view, because it had a distinct taste from Poirot's. Poirot's thoughts were usually organized, and separated his emotions from the observations of the case. However, Hastings's thoughts were very emotional and less observative and more sympathetic. Of course, Poirot had sympathies, but usually he pushed them aside until the case was closed and solved, but Hastings failed to do that, and I think it is very normal. Hastings is an honest man, with strong faith in what he believes. I was deeply fascinated by his compassion towards his daughter, and my thoughts about Judith also changed due to her actions in the story. Overall, it was a great book, and I recommend it to the students that like to read mysteries and solve the case with the hidden clues.

[I'm reading this book. Pages 1-138]
This is the last case of Hercule Poirot series, and I am halfway through the book. Unlike other Agatha Chrstie's book, I do not think there will be an actual murder during the story, because Poirot and his friend Hastings are trying to stop the murder, and I think they will be able to do it. As always, my favorite character is Hercule Poirot, but in Curatin, he does not appear as much as usual, as the story progresses in Hasting's point of view. It is interesting to see in his perspective because he is VERY different from Poirot. My least favorite character so far is Judith Hastings, Captain Hastings' daughter. She seems to be disrespectful and overreacts whenever her father tries to give her an advice. So far, I do not have a faintest clue who X is, but I know who the victim is going to be. I can feel the tension building up, as anticipation for the climax does. Agatha Christie did a great job trying to express different character's emotions in this book.”
“The last Poirot mystery, it is also my favorite Poirot mystery ever. ”

Agatha Christie's writing style is very easy to follow, which I appreciate, and she had me guessing until the end. Looking back, I probably shouldn't have started with "Hercule Poirot's last mystery" but shhhh.”

The impression is that she wrote fluffy murder mystery novels. I always find that the depth of her understanding of human psychology, behaviour, and social reality is quite astounding. In this short novel, she packs in so many questions about the value of human life and living with honour, that it makes it her best novel in my opinion. It features the death of her much loved character, Hercule Poirot, and in that respect is a sad one, seeing the end of the much-loved detective. She wraps up that whole series of books by telling the story through Hastings' eyes, and thus reviving memories of the cases they solved together in the past. A very nostalgic read, it is a tremendous end to the series.”
