I couldn't carry on reading and i felt the story line got bit complicated. It took unusually a longer period for me to complete this...coz i wanted to read it somehow!

Sally m, I read your comment about Paulo's 'Zahir'. I would recommend that you re-read it after first exploring the meaning of Zahir. It is a philosphical phenomenon in sophism. Based on the idea of Zahir, which is difficult for me to explain now, the author points out that before one tries to understand others' behaviour, he has to go deep inside one's self (beyond what is visible on the surface) and understand it, and to do so, one has to free his soul. I hope I was of any help. Paulo's Zahir is one of the best in terms of spiritual philosophy, and I wish you could see that

David you are right concerning Robin Sharma And Cohelo.
I havent read all the posts of the discussion going on, but I would like to point out one thing : Ive just fnihsed reading this book and it was really A TOTAL DISAPPOINTEMENT. Ive read many of Cohelo's books, of course after reading The Alchemist, - as repetitive as it may sound , it did change my life - and I decided I was a fan of this writer who doesnt necessary excel at writing novels but fables, philospphical stories and books that can inspire us. I've read By the River Piedera I Sat And Wept too, and I've really appreciated both.
But I think Cohelo's is either being too shallow in this book or is just writing the book for the sake of writing without paying much attention 2 the content. The subejcts that he discussess : homeless people and their philosphy about life , and his "celebrity" life , and most importantly How can he keep reminiding us of the number of books he sold ? Of the importance of his fame? We should be getting to those conclusions or thoughts by ourselves without him leading us 2 think so. I have a list of things I really am upset bout in this book.
Its not inspiring, its boring and its shallow. At least to me...

Yes i agree with most of the latest comments. He gets too heavy-handed on the philosophical BS really...his earlier works were refreshing...bt after while they all seem to say the same thing. It gets a little annoying.
