“I read this for a class while in college - 19th Century Intellectual Thought in Europe. Sounds very dry but the teacher was fantastic and I remember thinking the book was brilliant. Shelley uses the monster as a way of expressing the constraints on thoughts and ideas within the 19th century (if i remember correctly). Glad I read this in class as the underlying philosophy behind it made it an infinitely better read in my opinion.”

Just amazing, from the first page I was hooked. Like another reviewer said, if you have not read Frankenstein, you have no idea of the story, no matter how many film adaptations you have watched. Just read it!”
