Motivation was never Anise's problem. She has an M.B. A. and a drive to become as successful in business as she has in other aspect of her life but then her world is changed dramatically when she discovers her husband is having an affair and the big wigs where she's employed reminds her that she is woman trying to make it with the odds stacked against her!
That is just the beginning of Anise's problems. She discovers that her very good friend and co-worker has been keeping secrets from her that will ultimately leave her feeling betrayed and her heart will lead her to participate in a new relationship with a man she never would have chosen as a match. All while trying to overcome the obstacles of discrimination at her workplace.
A Taste of Reality was well written and while the plot was intriguing, it lacked some of the luster held by some of her other books. It brings about an awareness that not always is it as simple as wanting something and going for it that will bring about the results you want and that love can be found in places you never would have thought.
