The end of Eternity is the begining of infinity. this is a classic Asimov, that is pure genius. this book is about an origanization of humans who maintain, takecare, and change Time, dutily taking care of the duties they believe help the humand race to survive, there only charge: human races wellbeing, will be there down fall.

the story takes place in Eternity(which is what they call there home outside of time) and in many different time periods and centureies, and the main charactor is Eternal technician Andrew Harlan, who is very good at what he does and his destined to play a part in the creation/continuance of Eternity...until he does what no eternal does or is allowed to do, falls in love. and now with love threating everything and Harlan threating everything just to keep his love.....but in the end What he discovers is that maybe there assumptions were wrong all along, maybe the Eternals werent doing as good a job as they felt they were........

    A good story but over-dramatized.

This one's really cleverly plotted and a delightful daydream.

Isaac Asimov, with his wildly imaginative and amazingly pacy storyline, redefines sci-fi as a genre. If you have had enough of the alien-ruled apocalyptic science fiction plots, grab your hands on this unusually entertaining book, and you won't find a dull moment. One can never narrate time-travel as grippingly and as intriguingly as Asimov has. Hats off!

    All time favorite book.
Eternity = place exists outside of time, manipulates trading between centruries.

There are some huge problems in its time traveling, but I suppose that's normal. Other than that I liked it and enjoyed reading it.
