the structure of the novel really puts the reader on edge, making the reader feel what the characters are experiencing - i was feeling what the harte's and the gold's felt upon knowing what happened to emily and chris;asking the same questions haunting the two families;grieving like michael and melanie;hurting like gus and james;suffering like chris...

I've only read two books by Picoult--this one and "My Sister's Keeper." There is no doubt that Picoult knows how to write a novel that keeps you involved and turning the pages, but I think the issues she raises in "My Sister's Keeper" make it a far superior book to this one.

I loved this book, but what frustrated me was Emily's bitch of a mom. I mean burning evidence that Chris was innoncence, for some twisted sense of revenge. What a bitch? Anyone else irrated by her?
