  “First Bukowski book I ever read and I think it put me off sex for a couple months. I've never been forced to consider another man's penis more than the week I spent on this one. Read it while drinking.”

  “I just have to admit that I don't get Bukowski. Friends tell me he's important and innovative...he just seems like a dirty, drunk old man. I've only read this one, and the characters broke my heart. If anyone has a suggestion of one of his books that might help me "get it" I'll give it another go.”
