We had another amazing study last night. We welcomed our new pastor's wife, Margie, into the group. We are excited that they are finally here and we cannot wait to get started serving the Lord with them! Chapter 7 was a needed chapter for many of us. It discussed the aspect of hoolahooping all of our life's commentments and how we cannot do it without God. Nor should we drop the quiet time with God hoolahoop when things get too busy. If you are now struggling with your hoolahoops, you would benefit from reading chapter 7!

Our youth group is in Florida this weekend. Pray for their safe keeping! Until next week!

Even though I'm talking to myself I thought I would post anyway! Cacie and I will not be there tonight...sadly...I really enjoyed chapter 5. The most inspiring part was when she talked about the article she read where the man had the walk through his mind with Jesus. It made me cry because it was so true for so many of...especially me!

So, I just finished chapters 4 and 5. WOW! It's all about where I've been and where I am now. It really made me realize I don't need to feel guilty about the choices I've made over the last couple of years. I've been feeling as though I was letting everyone down...now I realize that maybe it wasn't my choice...maybe it was God's???

We had a great discussion for the opening chapter. It was more or less an overview since no one really had the book that first night. But the message that came from the meeting was that yes, change is possible no matter how busy we are or no matter if we have the Mary or Martha personality. It's finding or making the time to "Be still and Know" .. We also focused also on the following verse that closes out the chapter:

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." Matthew 11:29-30 (MSG)
