“I warmed up to this book slowly. The book is better than the movie, of course. I read this many years ago having recieved it from a free offer from a book club. I ended up really likeing this book and subsequent books by Amy Tan.”

“This is a great and touching story of children and the relationships with their parents. It may take place within a group of asian families, but the story is very much something anyone of any race, sex, religion can relate to.”
