The book is one of his shortest; it’s taut as a noose, and this dark fable glows like an emerald bracelet coiled around Estella’s ivory wrist. |

“So boring and confusing and kind of creepy. You never really can figure out what in the world is going on. And the ending was very disappointing. Sorry Charles Dickens, I didn't like your classic.”

I learnt English as a second language through Dickens and other classical writers. I have been told that such writers are passe. What codswallop! ”
