“Robert McCloskey is a king of children's literature. His illustrations are filled with vivid expression and sensitive meaning. He creates characters that the reader strongly identifies with, and at the same time he freezes in time the idealistic part of America that is now becoming extinct. He makes modern children's book seem shallow, while his own stories glow with life and creativity. These are some of my favorite books to read with children, and each child gets wrapped up in the stories. ”

Lovely illustrations that are reminiscient of paintings. For older readers.”
