Fluff....that's what this book is. This book was CLEARLY written for young adult girls who fantasize about their knight, or in this case, their vampire, in shining armor. Blach..... So many things irritated me about it including how on earth could an OLD, and you would think wise, vampire fall in love with a goofy teenager. Give me a break!!!!! And, I thought the author was beating a dead horse with the constant talk from Edward about not wanting to put his human girl in danger and the girl's constant talk about not caring if she was in danger. Edward has all the power and control over his little woman. Ugh..... But, even after bashing this book, I still finished it!!!! So, I admit that I enjoyed it on a teenage girl level! If you want to read purely for entertainment, because we all need books like that sometimes, go for it. If you're looking for something that goes beyond entertainment and the usual male/female roles, avoid it. I would love to see young girls (and grown women!) reading books that empower them and challenge stereotypical male/female roles instead of upholding the status quo.

I could not agree with you more! This book was recommended to me by a friend whose judgement in books is usually good so I decided to spend the time and chew through the 500 page paperweight. I was SOOOOO incredibly frustrated with how many words were used to simply describe facial expressions instead of clever dialogue that was advance the story more quickly. Geez, if I had to read anymore about Bella's clumsiness or crying episodes I was going to scream! I am glad this book is not loved by everyone, it makes me feel better to see you felt the same way about it. I assume you did not bother with the other books in the series?

I strongly disagree with you. This is one of my favorite books and now I am reading the second one of this saga so I dont think you should have criticized it that much.

I like the fluffy good stuff! I was always into the lovey dovey stuff. And it is not only about the danger and stuff it is about the challenges that some people go through during a relationship. I enjoyed it because it shows that something will work out and something won't. And also because Edward was in it...but that is getting off subject. Twilight was one of the greatest books I have ever read, fluffy or not. It showed the conflicts and the friendships and everything else. I highly recommend this book, highly! And even if some girls fantasize about Edward, or a lot, it is really fun to fantasize! I have nothing against the book, except for the fact that Jacob was in it...Bella does what her heart tells her, and that is what it is all about. Trusting yourself...

Just because your not the books "target audience" doesn't mean that you should put it down. This book is amazing and I've never read anything better than this, except for the others in the series. Don't say BLAH because you obviously can't appreciate the talent of this author!!!!!!!!!!!

Kimberly, this book WAS written FOR TEENS. Of course its going to have all the elements that annoy you--It's fiction and it touches on all the aspects that appeal to pre-teens and the adolescent youth. I teach high school students, and many girls are into that whole "finding your perfect dream guy fantasy" stuff. I think Stephanie Meyers does a good job at appealing to the teen audience. If you didn't like it, that's too bad, but I understand the "corny fluff" that Meyers writes about because I was there once... Hmm... Maybe you SHOULD stick to your 'intellectual fiction'.

I've heard a lot of great things about this book, I havent read it myself though. Maybe you found it to be "fluff", but I know a lot of moms that loved it just as much as a teenaged girl.

It made me worried that the great stories I heard about Twilight werent really true. I know now from all the posts people made after your "Corny Fluff" comment, that I should definetley listen to them. I dont mean to critisize your recommendation, but your idea of a recommendation isnt what mine is. I felt like you only trashed it with your opinion.

Well instead of looking at the bad sides of apperently everything, this is an awesome book! For your information, this is a fictional book. Its not meant to seem real. A book is for pleasure and not to analyze for when she's "beating a horse"! So apperently you think its "fluff" when a guy cares about his girlfriend. Apperently we can't care:) Its called love and its not supposed to make sence:) so what, are you too high for teenager level? Apperently:)

I agree with Kimberly R. I was so disappointed with this - especially after all the hype I had heard. It is simply a romance for young girls, and if you lke that sort of book then this is the series for you. I simply have never liked romance novels, so this just did nothing for me.

I'm a 40 year old female and I love this book. I don't know where the fluff was and I read because I enjoy reading. It captured me right from the start. I recommend this book for any age that has an open mind and that enjoys fiction that isn't boring and predictable.

ok, yes this book is fluff, but what do you think teenage girls are looking to read? boring killing adult books? NO! Young teenagers pick up this book and think what an amazing read and then you come out and write some untrue adult opinion of a teenage book? If you read a teenage book you need to write a review on a teenagers thoughts.
