In the Age of Victoria psychics were in vogue. Caroline Fordyce is a "sensational writer"(as in Tabloid magazines). She writes mysteries with sensational incidents that are serialized in the paper. She becomes involved in a series of murders of mediums. Adam Hardesty finds her name in a list of "sitters" at a seance and considers her a suspect in the murder of the medium. Lots of fun
