I love books like this that have interesting characters that you'd love to meet in real life. I like how the author really devotes himself to the characters. The only thing that bugged me was that the ending was given away! If it weren't for the cover, it would be pretty obvious by about half-way through. But all-in-all the message was beautiful.

I've had this on my to-read list for a month now. I keep picking up Moore's books and putting them back down in the store. I really can't decide if I'll enjoy his writing or not...part of me says yes, but the other part says shut the f**k up.

Up to chapter 6 in this book, reading it free on the publisher's website. Several people have recommended it to me and I'm glad they did? What's your favorite part?

Who would have thought that, in the Ultimate Battle Between Good and Evil, the Decider would be a 6-year old name Sophie??? One of many questions this delightful book poses. Hystory, Myth-story...souls-in-peril and Souls on the loose...the fear of Death as a cause for rejoicing...San Francisco and Thanatos....The Morrigan....destruction...mayhem...wacky cops and sex! it's got all of the above...and actually makes one think....a book of a book! read it

I haven't yet finished this book, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I was in a bookstore and the cashier recommended Christopher Moore to me and I'm glad that she did. I'm looking forward to finishing this novel and then moving on to his other works.

I pretty much enjoyed this book. I started about a year ago and couldn't really get into it for some reason. But I picked this book up again a week ago and for some reason it clicked this time. It was pretty enjoyable and I laughed several times. There were parts where it seemed to drag a little especially in the middle but it still kept my interest. My only beef is that the great battle between the forces of darkness and Charlie was kind of anti-climactic. I wanted great armies of darkness to descend upon the city and for the great battle to be above ground and involve all of his friends. But oh well. It was a good book anyway.

I love christopher moore books, Lamb is pure genius... but this book... sorry, it's not nearly as good. If you want to read Christopher Moore, I highly recommend Lamb or The Stupidest Angel.

The humor was a little too forced for my taste. I guess the characters were supposed to be comic book-exaggerated -- ok, I got a few chuckles, but there were times I wanted to stop reading this, I just didn't care what happened to these people. Especially the bratty little kid.
