Ella is one of the best heroines I have ever read about! She really puts a twist on the basis of Cinderella. I mean, Cinderella never HAD to do anything. She didn't have a curse to be obedient. Cinderella was also, in my opinion, your typical damsel in distress. She was helpless and acted like she couldn't do anything for herself. Ella, on the other hand, is fantastic in that she tries to fight orders given to her and she is stubborn and courageous. A damsel in distress she is not!

The book was phenomenal. All those crazy freaking languages? So awesome! :D
Though I just LOVE Anne Hathaway, I really did not like the movie version of this book. They changed the plotline completely. I reread through the book after I saw the movie, and was like, "See? I *knew* there wasn't an evil uncle trying to take over the kingdom!" But, I suppose that's what sells, eh?

this is an absouloutley fantastic version of Cinderella. Its about this girl named ella who a curse. She has to do whatever anyone tells her including chopping off her own head. Her mom is dead, naturally anmd her father is re-marrying an absouloutley beastly women with two nasty daughters. The stepmother makes ella go to a school for ladies with her daughters and do other awful stuff. Then ella falls in love with prince charming but her jealous stepsister is trying to order her to not love him. Gail Carson twisted the story around brillianty

I absolutely LOVED the book! It was such a fantasy-adventure experience. It made me feel like i was in a completely different world...with magic, spells, princesses, cute princes, fairies, you name it. I read it once but i'll probably read it again soon. P.S. i also loved the move :)

I loved this book so much when I was growing up, I've read it over and over and it's so great every time! I thought it would have made such a good movie, I was so disappointed with the movie that came out.

I thought this book was okay (I'm not a huge fantasy person)! Reading I kept thinking it would make for a great kid's movie - but when I heard they totally changed it, I couldn't bring myself to watch it.
