“In this story, York moves into an alternate universe. The heroine is a female shapeshifter. One of her forms is a wolf. In our universe, there are no female werewolves. They're all male, and the hero has been caught in a steel trap. She finds him and helps him escape, because the trap was set for her, then they go back to her world through the gate in the woods, to escape the bad guys coming for her. There's a lot of running from bad guys and a lot of backstory about the alternate universe. They come back to this universe for the grand finale, which is satisfying. I'm not sure I liked the alternate universe bits—it was such a dark place. I think York has more stories planned there—we'll have to see how they turn out. Good read.”
