“This installment of the series was a little better then the first two. I liked the furhter involvement of Dr. George Darcy in this plot, yes I said plot, and his ministrations to both of the Darcy's was a good addition to lighten the syrup and bring much needed diversity to the characters. The interatctions on occassion seemed trite, too rehearsed but that was the time period after all; sticking to the weather and everyone's health. There could be better dialogue throughout the novel a little more indepth or familiar. Some readers may argue this point as in fact Dr. Darcy is quite familiar when speaking to his nephew and niece but since he is a medical professional I did not see this as stretching for the character type.
It is very interesting how Lathan has tried to keep the bedroom scenes going, interesting in how she gets Darcy and Elizabeth to "try new things" to show their love while Elizabeth is pregnant. But, what can you do- it was written and published right?
Better, getting much better.”
