“I loved this book! This is my kind of book. Great hero/heroine and secondary characters. The setting, location, not a lot of complicated characters. The love/sex scenes were hot without being vulgar. Love that it's a series.”see full review » see other reviews »
“I liked this mixture of historical and paranormal. I'm always fond of reading about Scots and I find it even more fascinated when magic is added to the mix.
I won't make this review long, I just want to say this is my first Donna Grant novel and it won't be the last.”
“This is Lucan's book. There are 3 Ancient Highland Warrior brothers Lucan, Fallon and Quinn Macleod. Lucan finds and saves Cara and falls in love with her. Cara is Druid but doesn't know it. Deidre who is a powerful evil Druid priestess is after any Druid's and the Warriors. Love the story here. I also love the fact the writer didn't make the male all sappy when he fell in love. He still gets done what needs to be done.
“can't bring myself to read the rest of this series, maybe later and only if i'm desperate !
“An fast paced paranormal. Immortals, Druids, witches and good vs. evil...ready for the next story!”Pattigr wrote this review Monday, May 28, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I liked this story that has ancient warriors and druids as the central characters. The brothers, Fallon, Lucan and Quinn each handle their curse in a different method. Cara is young and unaware of her druid heritage. When she is saved by Lucan a tender love story and an epic battle between good and evil begins. Since it is the first in this series there is a lot of background information that needs telling, but that doesn't distract from Cara and Lucan's love story. Good dialogue and characters made this a very nice read. ”Roxhill wrote this review Wednesday, May 16, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“**SPOILERS in this review**
Set in Scotland in the Highlands, this historical PNR has it all...great background story of warrior brothers tormented by their past and what happened to their clan...only to still be tormented 300 years later. Each Macleod brother deals with the god their own way, Enter Cara and the momentum in their dreary, ghostly lives immediately changes. She finds out shes a Druid who possesses earthly powers. Lucan Macleod is immediately taken by her and can't control his passion. The fact that she is wanted by the Druid drough, Deidre, only hightens the story. Cara possesses the Demon's Kiss, her mom's drough blood as well as her own drough blood, so she is much in demand.
Eventually, there is an HEA for Lucan and Cara and we also see that Fallon, the eldest Macleod brother finally unleashed his god. What's also exciting is Quinn and his revelation that despite his wife and son dying 300 years ago and his guilt for not protecting them, hen confesses to Fallon thatch never loved his wife and that she was afraid to get pregnant again after a difficult birth. Quinn then decides to leave the castle only to be captured by one of Deidre's warriors.
What left unanswered was...will Cara eventually become immortal? She odds marry Lucan and they their future is unquestionable, but she is still mortal at the end of the book. Deidre is still after her, the Demon's Kiss as well as Fallon and Lucan...so I hope these points are addressed in the next books.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced historical read. ”
