When I read this book last year, I became completely obsessed with it. I tried to get my husband to read it, but I think he thought it was too girly or something. One night while I was reading the (gruesome) tale of how Mehrunnisa's husband was killed, I noticed him reading over my shoulder. We finished the book and the sequel together because the story was so compelling. Along with the sequel, - probably my favorite books in a long time.
