This is Louis L'Amour with a difference. If you think he only knows how to write about the American West, this is for you. It's now the dark ages in northern Europe. A long book that covers six years in a young man’s life in the late 1100s in Europe and Asia. How many times can a young man get into trouble and get himself out? Having read a number of his books, it seems that L'Amour had a deep distaste for Christianity and that attitude was blaring in this novel.
