Excellent. Understand why your brain drives you to eat (and eat and eat and eat) stuff that's bad for you and makes you gain weight. Use this knowledge to avoid foods and situations that encourage overeating. Added an important piece to my understanding of biochemistry as applied to health and...

I smell a lawsuit coming from Chili's and Cinnabon. I found this book high on rhetoric, low on nutritional facts, and overly sensationalized.

This book took the typical American foods we eat and find in grocery stores and restaurants and showed how so much is built on fat, sugar and salt. Really no big revelation there, but it helps to see to see the research and findings together and to think more about the food we eat. I found myself talking with others a lot about this as I read it. It is a useful thing to read.

Interesting look at food and eating. It has changed how I look at meals.

Good information, but could have been a nice pamphlet.

Another case where I wished that I could give a half star or a 'Meh, *shrug* it was OK'. Interesting enough and very well researched. Very scientific. Reads like a textbook. I skimmed quite a bit of it rather than actually reading it.

It will make you think twice about where you eat.

I suppose saying I didn't like it is not accurate. It was okay. It is very scientific, very detailed and I felt like saying; "okay, on with it!"
I did not finish the book.

Incredibly interesting results presented in a fabulously boring way. Perhaps it's because I read this immediately after reading William Dufty's Sugar Blues (admittedly not the most scientifically rigorous book), but even Kressler's strongest statements seemed weak and a redundant. Reading this book was a bit like being hit over the head with a soft, inflatable hammer for 4 hours.
