Use this knowledge to avoid foods and situations that encourage overeating. Didn’t Like It“I smell a lawsuit coming from Chili's and Cinnabon. I found this book high on rhetoric, low on nutritional facts, and overly sensationalized.” see full review » see other reviews » |
“This book took the typical American foods we eat and find in grocery stores and restaurants and showed how so much is built on fat, sugar and salt. Really no big revelation there, but it helps to see to see the research and findings together and to think more about the food we eat. I found myself talking with others a lot about this as I read it. It is a useful thing to read.”

Interesting enough and very well researched. Very scientific. Reads like a textbook. I skimmed quite a bit of it rather than actually reading it. ”

I did not finish the book.”
“Incredibly interesting results presented in a fabulously boring way. Perhaps it's because I read this immediately after reading William Dufty's Sugar Blues (admittedly not the most scientifically rigorous book), but even Kressler's strongest statements seemed weak and a redundant. Reading this book was a bit like being hit over the head with a soft, inflatable hammer for 4 hours. ”
