“Oh my, oh my, oh my.....
I normally do not like romance, but this is erotica, romance and vampires (not demons).

"One Word Answer" by Charlaine Harris
This I have read before. Sookie, Bill & Bubba are gardening when Sookie receives visitors in the form of Mr. Cataliades & Waldo. Mr. Cataliades has come to bring Sookie the news that her cousin Haley is dead & has left Sookie everything. However, it seems as though Haley (although the Queen's favorite) had been murdered trying to raise the body of Marie Laveau. Somehow Waldo is involved......
"Biting in Plain Sight" by Mary Janice Davidson
This was lite & entertaining, but I stopped reading about Eric Sinclair & Queen Betsy a long time back....
In this story Dr. Sofie is the town's vet, everyone knows what she is (a vampire) but because of her dedication to their animals the townspeople never give her "affliction" a second thought.
Liam is secretly in love w/ Dr. Sophie and has borrowed ailing cats just so that he can get her to visit. Liam knows about Sophie.
Meanwhile, some vampire is purposely wooing & seducing young women and then jilting them & breaking their hearts so badly that they commit suicide.....
With Dr. sophie, Liam, Siclair, & Queen Betsy on his trail, he is about to be stopped.
"Galahad" by Angela Knight
A new vampire has come into being and she immediately has visions of her & a Knight battling a vast number of the undead. She locates this Knight who turns out to be Sir Galahad (who is also a vampire).... Together they a bad ass pair of avengers and extremely hot lovers.
"Blood Lust" by Vickie Taylor
The vampires in Atlanta are being controlled by starvation. A scientist named Daniel has created synthetic blood, but it has been stolen by a most evil man.... I really liked the erotic scenes in this book..... They made me smile!”
“All of these stories had a surprisingly romantic twist to them”Erin K. Davis wrote this review Sunday, November 4, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This is going to be a short review because it's always hard for to write about anthologies. It's hard for me to go deeper into short stories.
I've only ever read books by Charlaine Harris and MaryJanice Davidson before. So while the other short stories were interesting and fun, I wasn't completely into their world. I enjoyed reading MaryJanice Davidson's story. It took me a couple of pages to get where Queen Betsy came into play. But I so love her. She's the first paranormal character that I loved and got me into my paranormal phase. As for Charlaine Harris's story...it was interesting to read more about Sookie's cousin Hadley. I got a little bit more of a back story than we got in the novel.

“I read two of the stories in this book to go along with the series I have already been reading. The Laurell K. Hamilton story was very short but good. The other story I read was the Angela Knight story which was great. I love the Mageverse series.
I went back and read two more of the stories. The 2nd story was a very short story about Sookie Stackhouse and her pals Bill and Bubba. A Limo shows up with a character claiming Sookie has an Legacy left to her by her cousin Hadley.
The 3rd story was a very good story by Mary Janice Davison. Sophie Tournea is a vampire who lives on a houseboat in Embarrass, Minnesota as a vet. Sophie has been missing her human companion Ed. Since his death a few months past of old age. Liam is one of the town's men who brings a cat for Sophie to look at. And Sophie starts to look at Liam with interest.
I read these last 2 stories 9/23 & 9/25/09.
I finaly read the last story in this book 12/24/09. Blood Lust by Vickie Taylor, Daniel is tricked by Garth and ends up losing his girlfriend. She becomes a vampire. Now he must find a vampire to make him a vampire so he can kill Garth to get his revenge. But he ends up falling for her. A great little story.”

“Galahad by Angela Knight Galahad and Caroline truebond to destroy one of the three unholy grails created by Geirolf.
One Word Answer by Charlaine Harris Sookie is faced with the Queen's request she kills Hadley's murderer”
“Bite is a collection of 5 short stories, (1) The Girl Who Was infatuated With Death by Laurell K. Hamilton, (2) One Word Answer by Charlaine Harris, (3) Biting In Plain Sight by Mary Janice Davidson, (4) Galahad by Angela Knight and (5) Blood Lust by Vickie Taylor.
The first one is an Anita Blake short story which happened in between Blue Moon (read my review here) and Obsidian Butterfly. The story is about a girI who is suffering from bone cancer. Her mother found out that she had asked a vampire to turn her and now her mother hired Anita to find her daughter and execute that vamp. Blue Moon was a Richard-Anita book so this one is focused on Jean-Claude and Anita relationship. I haven't read Obsidian Butterfly so I couldnt tell if this story is connected with that book. Book 1 was just an OK story, and I dont think readers who have not read the Anita series would be interested to start with this book.
The second story from Charlaine Harris is about Sookie Stackhouse's cousin Hadley. Her vampire cousin was a lover of the vampire queen of Louisiana (Eric and Bill's boss) and was recently staked so the queen sent her lawyer to Sookie to deliver Hadley's legacy. I think the story happened after the Witch war (?). I'm not sure - it's been a year or two since I read the series. It must be after Book 3 or 4 because Bill here was just "a friend and a neighbor" to Sookie. Sookie fans doesn't need to read this, as this story added nothing to the series.
I didn't like the third story by MaryJanice Davidson. The plot wasn't interesting to read, too predictable and the characters confused me. The last two short stories surprised me. I was almost ready to give up when the story became a page turner. I haven't heard of Angela Knight and Vickie Taylor but I was impressed with their writing. I liked the fourth one, Galahad story by Angela Knight. I read that this is also part of the Round Table series (which I would like to start one day). The story is about Caroline who was recently turned into a witch and was getting visions of the future. She saw someone murdering people to create an army of bad vampires. She also saw a vision that a vampire swordsman would be the perfect man to do the job. The guy in her vision turned out to be Galahad, one of the best knights of the Round Table. Together they set out on a mission of stopping the bad guys in creating an army of vamps.
Blood Lust, the final story is about a microbiologist, Daniel Hart who invented synthetic blood. After having the synthetic blood perfected, his employer - a vampire, stole his work, his house, everything he has including his fiancee (which was turned into a vamp). He wanted to kill his vampire employer but he realized, he couldn't kill him if he's human. So he finds Deidre, a woman vampire to turn her. So the story goes from there.
I bought this book because I love Anita and Sookie series. I was disappointed because those two stories don't add anything to the series. However, I am considering this a great book for Galahad and Blood Lust.
