George Elliot has created some of the best characters in her novel, Daniel Deronda. Gwendolyn is a character you can hate, relate to, love, and feel sorry for all in one book. Daniel Deronda is one the most likeable characters - he is a deep thinker, compassionate, and is true to himself and his ideals. Through these characters, and more, along with her eloquent dialogue, George Elliot perfectly expresses even the most subtle of realities of life and society.
