Cassie thinks a perfect Christmas is finding the perfect man for her. She has tried everything with no success. So she goes to matchmaker, Simon, who charges $30,000 which is refundable if he doesnt find the perfect man. Great story.
Second book is CAN THIS BE CHRISTMAS one of Debbie's first stories. Christmas requires a Macomber book to be perfect for me

I love Christmas books and I love Debbie Macomber's Christmas stories. This was a sweet tale with a light touch of romance and humor. I couldn't put it down. I stayed up the whole night reading. The ending was very happy as well.

2.5, actually. Disappointingg - I didn't like either of the leading characters and the story was kind of flat. And I really like most of what Debbie Macomber writes.

Christmas perfect? For Cassie Beaumont, it’s meeting her perfect match. Cassie, at thirty-three, wants a husband and kids, and so far, nothing’s worked. Not blind dates, not the Internet and certainly not leaving love to chance. What’s left? A professional matchmaker. He’s Simon Dodson, and he’s very choosy about the clients he takes on. Cassie finds Simon a difficult, acerbic know-it-all, and she’s astonished when he accepts her as a client. Claiming he has her perfect mate in mind, Simon assigns her three tasks to complete before she meets him. Three tasks that are all about Christmas: being a charity bell ringer, dressing up as Santa’s elf at a children’s party and preparing a traditional turkey dinner for her neighbors (whom she happens to dislike). Despite a number of comical mishaps, Cassie does it all—and she’s finally ready to meet her match. But just like the perfect Christmas gift, he turns out to be a wonderful surprise!

Having read Debbie's books for 15 years, this story was way too predictable. I did enjoy the interactions between the characters and the way Simon and Cassie each grow in their own ways. While I usually do donate in Dec, I started putting money in the kettle EVERY time we went to the store. I really liked the hosting dinner challenge Simon gave Cassie. It changed her, and her neighbors for the better, making for a happier building.

Absolutely loved this novel. A heartwarming story about Cassie and her search for the perfect husband this Christmas season. Seeking help from very expensive matchmaking expert Dr. Simon Dodson he gives her 3 laugh out loud tasks before she can meet the man of her dreams. Only to find out he's right under her nose the whole time. A great read for this holiday season.
