  • Rosalie Twerski: A 10 year old girl in the class of the main character. Rosalie is a seemingly stuck up girl with rich parents and a tendency to try to control every thing.
  • Lonny Flood: The main character's best friend. Lonny has a very poor family, and is very immature. He is the biggest kid in his class, and also one of the least smart. He is a trouble maker.
  • Madame Frechette: The main character's long term substitute teacher, who is French and from Canada. She organizes the Christmas "tableaux vivants", or living picture.
  • Frances: Felix's youngest sister.
  • Simone: Felix's oldest sister.
  • Mother Filomina: The principal of the Catholic grade school.
  • Felix: Felix is the main character, whose family moved from Italy before he was born. He is one of the smartest kids in his class, and absolutely despises Rosalie.
  • Annette: Felix's third cousin, and a famous actress. Annette Funnicello is a real person, not just a character in this book. Felix and his family take huge pride in having her as a relative.
  • Ranger Andy: The star of a local kids TV show called Ranger Andy, which features kids learning about wildlife and nature.
  • Sister Dymphna: The nun who has a mental breakdown.
  • Mary Agrippina: A substitute teacher that beats pupils that do not behave.
  • Geraldine Balchunas: A classmate of Felix's.
  • Ronald Reagan: The president at the time the book is set.
  • Zhenya Kabakov: A russian immigrant who moves to America and into Felix's class. She has a hilarious accent, and does things the way she wants to rather than following the rules.
  • Franz Duzio: A classmate of Felix's. The second oldest and toughest kid in Felix's class. Franz played the angel Gabriel.
  • Kubiak: uplifing story told by a grade school boy growing up in catholic school.
  • Pauline Papelbon: chubby classmate of Felix.
  • Marion Pemberton: Add a description of this character.
  • Felix Funicello: The youthful hero of this story, and 3rd cousin to the famous Annette Funicello.
  • Dondi: The nickname for Felix.
