This book went down in my opinion because of some unnecessary additions. ”

It was based around Christmas time, but it's not the focus of it. It was a cute love story that has some depth to it and glad she mentioned some of the other characters in this series too. ”

There was a still, breath-held quality to the winter evening, a quiet that pervaded the soul. The air smelled of the crisp sweetness of the cold season. Everything had an air of waiting, edged by the sense of things about to begin." - Lakeshore Christmas by Susan Wiggs
In the picturesque lakeside town of Avalon there's flurries brewing!
Maureen Davenport isn't looking to venture outside the familiar walls of the library, but when bad-boy and former child star Eddie Haven rolls into town to help Maureen direct the annual Christmas pageant the prim and proper librarian has more on her hands than she expected. The season she adores becomes increasingly more complicated as hard times hit the library and her less than Christmas-loving co-director stirs up things that she may not be ready to deal with. The perfect holiday slips farther away, but could a Christmas miracle save the day? Can Maureen and Eddie put aside the pasts that haunt them? As these Avalonians look for a Christmas they can believe in, they may just find the greatest gift of all.
I was initially a little disappointed when I got this book home. Drawn in by the sparkling cover and sweet cover summary, I had neglected to notice that Lakeshore Christmas was not just a Christmas book, but the latest instalment in the Lakeshore series. This apprehension was proved to be quite unnecessary, as Lakeshore Christmas was a touching novel that stands alone as a great read. Even as a foreigner to the lovely town by the lake, I was immediately at home. The twinkling village was the picture of the homey, snowy world one could only imagine in a snow globe or a sweet December dream. With this pristine backdrop, Wiggs set the scene for a charming tale.
The characters were authentic and captivating. Instantly easy to relate to and sympathize with, warm and uniquely human. To give life to these characters was Wiggs' gift to the reader, and a gift I very much appreciated. While at times slightly predictable, Lakeshore Christmas does not cease to charm the reader and warm one over with the spirit of the season. As a Christmas treat and love story it's a rare gem. Magical, heart-warming and romantic, this is a novel that will become a fast favourite.
Lakeshore Christmas was by far the most enchanting Christmas book I've read. I urge anyone looking for a fireside read to pick it up, and I look forward to getting better acquainted with the rest of the Lakeshore series.

“Librarian Maureen Davenport finally gets to direct Avalons annual holiday pageant. She is so excited and she wants to make it the most meaningful and spectacular pageant ever! Unfortunately, she butts heads with Eddie Haven, her co-director, who has been court ordered to help her. He has BIG issues with Christmas. As the season continues, Eddie and Maureen disagree over many things but something they do agree on is that they are falling in love. Not a bad Christmas story.
