“These are the type of short stories I wish I were able to write. Every story is a moment in time, and Piazza is able to share the intrinsic feeling of that moment through dialogue, character action and thought, and setting the scene - without beating us over the head and spelling out what he wants us to take from the story/moment, we get it. Quick and beautiful - and not just southern, stories take place all over the country, but first one opens up in NOLA, where I believe Piazza is from, or at least has clearly spent a lot of time.”
