“I don't feel that this book is as strong as "The Devil and Miss Prym"(TDMP). As an atheist I found messages in "TDMP" that were still poignant for me. A message for the non-faithful didn't really exist in this book. It is all about faith, faith in the Holy Mother (the Goddess) and in the Holy Spirit. The story was still infinitely readable, but not as moving to me. As a footnote, I must say that Paulo Coelho's women characters are superb and complex. If I read this book without knowing the author's gender I would have thought this to be written by a woman; and I mean this both as a compliment, and as praise for his prose.
