I read this a while ago. Now that I have read more of Paulo's books, I plan to reread this and see if I get more out of it.

Because of a recommendation from a friend (who's a big fan of Coelho's), I decided to give this book a try. And I can say that this didn't disappoint me. A really great read.

It's a story of total surrender to the one Master of all the universe.....

"The world is at a point when many people are receiving the same order: Follow your dreams, transform your life, take the path that leads to God. Perform your miracles. Cure. Make prophecies. Listen to your guardian angel. Transform yourself. Be a warrior, and be happy as you wage the good fight. Take risks" This passage summarizes the whole gist of the book. The only other concept not mentioned in the above passage is the the concept of the "other" , the reasoning, critical part of us all which keeps us from accomplishing great things.
    Really enjoyed this.

I enjoy Paulo Coelho's writing style. His words flow, drawing the reader into the story, and characters. I'm not a spiritual person, however, feel, you don't need to be, to understand the simplistic life lessons, he is presenting. I easily identified with "the other", in the struggle between negative thoughts, and positve actions always hoping Pilar, will make the same choice, that I would......and....she does!! (smart girl...lol)
Eleven Minutes is still my favorite so far, this is a close second.
