This is by far the best Coelho book that I've ever read, and certainly one of my favorites. It tackles the biggest questions about philosophy, life, and religion(in a way), while being a great love story at the same time. It's simply the best and you can finish it on one seating. That's how exciting and spontaneous this book is. To make the long story short, it's a must-read!

the best part of his book is that it puts Love above all norms, be it culture or religion. For a moment, everything becomes so crystal clear. You completely understand that u need not be accepted by the society. and despite the society's viewpoint of u, it is more important that love rules us and no other socially, selfishly constructed norms decides our life but for only love and love....

This is the novel for true lovers, who love in spite and despite. It's also about religion, spiritual journeys, decisions and pathways. One of the best books I've read so far. It's highly reflective but not dragging. I found a very nice personification of love here... Paulo writes that Love is a Well... Curious? Well, you better read to find out!
