I was surprised at how much I loved this book. It was an easy read with a lot of meaning behind the simple story. It gave me a different perspective on love and relationships - both sexual and spiritual.

honestly Paulo deserves more mention than he receives and my adulation for him keeps on increasing with each novel but the
issue on which eleven minutes is based proves his courage and dedication to present a standard text on one of the basic needs of surviving but yet a taboo - SEX .
Definitely the diary entries of protagonist Maria are inspiring , enlightening and quotable .
his yet another unique way of unfolding a story is another attraction.

'eleven minutes' can be assesed as a fascinating story with a halucinating structure. it's impressive the accuracy of details which paulo coelho uses to describe the setting and the feelings of the characters. but for his talent, the story would have become another sad saga of a naive girl lured by the glamourous life of a big city. instead, he managed to capture essential landscapes that make the reader to transcend into the novel's action.
